Take a deep breath of fresh air in the Morvan! Nearly half of this massif is covered in forests. A true Burgundian treasure with varied natural spaces, the Morvan, also nicknamed "Little Canada", is a territory cradled by an authentic heritage and unique vegetation, which earned it the Regional Natural Park label in 1970.
Saulieu, Capital of Morvan
At the gateway to the Morvan Regional Natural Park, Saulieu is a small town in the Côte-d'Or renowned for its gastronomy. This is demonstrated by its famous restaurant, the Relais Bernard Loiseau, crowned with two stars in the Michelin Guide.
Discover in these picturesque places, one of the most beautiful Romanesque churches in Burgundy, the Basilica of Saint-Andoche. Right next door, housed in a 17th century mansion, the François Pompon museum. Most of the museum focuses on the life of the artist who sculpts representations of animals in motion and in particular his works, with the exhibition of some of them. He is known for his famous Polar Bear which seduces with its modernism as far as New York at the MoMA.
Le Saut du Gouloux, a revitalizing place in the Morvan
Let yourself be guided by the tumult of the water along the path to reach this waterfall. Old mossy stone walls, deciduous trees and conifers, these places are lulled by a mystical atmosphere. You can also admire the ruins of two mills, one for flour and the other for oil, as well as the location of an old floating port because this site was once used for floating wood: in the past, the wood of Morvan was used to heat Parisian homes!

Little paradise with peaceful waters.
Between the hills and forests of Morvan lies the Lac des Settons. A small haven of peace where it is good to stroll. Relaxation by the water, refreshing swimming, the peaceful waters of the lake are ideal for families. Tour the place and meet a rich fauna and lush flora. By taking the footbridges you will observe the birds with binoculars at dawn. On foot or by bike, there is no doubt that this walk will not leave you indifferent.

A place of memory and expression, based on historical archives and sensitive testimonies, the museum evokes the life and journey of the children of the Assistance placed in the Morvan. You walk through the exhibition space as if in a village, from house to house, through a lively scenography where historical data and sensitive testimonies intermingle. Conceived as a real house, the museum houses a café-library and a boutique-bookstore.
The lake with a hint of Ireland

A majestic ruin beyond time.
The fortress of Thil stands on the hill of Thil at an altitude of 480 meters. Discover a breathtaking view of the first foothills of the Morvan and the entire valley. The castle is an incredible ruin, one of the most powerful fortresses in the region, whose Catherine and Perceval, the owners, will be happy to tell you the story.
